Massive Attack made their mark as one of the pioneering forces behind the rise of trip-hop. Their history dates back to 1983 with the formation of the hip hop soul collective 'Wild Bunch' in Bristol (UK). Massive Attack's first album, 'Blue Lines', was released in 1991. Their influence can be heard in the music of several groups, including Portishead and Tricky. (edit)
