Chiggy Chone Biography

Chiggy Chone have worked their way up from the darkest depths of obscurity to become Sheffield's number one SKACORE band!

It all began around October 2004, with the coming together of seven punks from Sheffield who love getting pissed and playing music. The band originally practiced in Raife's attic at the Nottingham House pub in Sheffield, which was where they eventually played their first ever gig in January 2005!
In March they gained a new trumpet player and that June, recorded their first CD with top local producer James Bollock. Since then Chiggy Chone have been rockin' out across Sheffield, becoming the leaders of the local ska-punk scene. They also recorded a second CD in October 2005.
The band sound is a mixture of fast ska music, fused together with hardcore punk, with rap over the top.

Since the summer of 2005 the band have headlined a number of local gigs, including the TK FEST, a Sheffield based punk and ska festival held every few months.

In January of 2006, the band enlisted the talents of local tenor saxaphone player Big T (also known as Tim Fisher), to give the band an 8 member line up for a gig at the Boardwalk on 9th January. Several line-up changes have since followed, with the introduction of Morgan Evans on drums, and Tom Archa (from the bands 10 Second Rule and The Thumbs), who made an appearance the tenor saxaphone at the January 2006 TK FEST.
