LuciDream Biography

LuciDream is addictive. Evolving from the Canadian underground hip- hop group Internal Affairs, drummer Syd Beagle traded his time with local metal acts to join poet Manuel Dack, brothers Jon and PJ Miller, and vocalist Cara May, in what would manifest as LuciDream. Immediately the band flew to Toronto to record a fresh new collection of songs at Cherry Beach Sound (Moist, Tom Cochrane). Mixing classical guitar and feel good rhythms with Folk singing and spoken word, the self- produced, "Choose the Madness" was released in January 2006. The sound soon began to spread through a series of Calgary shows and festival spots at Shambala and Alberta’s Motion Notion, but revolution was in the air and the band planned their own tour throughout the west coast. The tour brought great response from interior BC and Vancouver and also won them Top Artist at the Temecula International Film and Music Festival in California. Astonishing audiences with story-based tracks such as "Lady Midnight" and the brutally honest lyrics of "Today", LuciDream also enjoys playing flamenco influenced instrumentals. With a wide range of inspirations honoring Andrew Lloyd Webber and Sly and the Family Stone to name a few, this is music that welcomes the passenger but suggests a seatbelt. (edit)
