G-Roc was formed in the late summer of 2006 when a mutual friend (Dillon "Dilly P" Luttrell), who also started Beat Farm Produce (Knoxville, TN), introduced the two musicians in his south Knoxville, TN studio/home. The chemistry was so evident Davidson (drums) quit his Asheville, NC based band of eight years almost immediately and 4matiks put his solo production career on hold to focus more on the band. Six months later the band has over four hours of original music along with many covers they picked up along the way. In the half year that the band has been been around they have also played a handfull of local shows in Knoxville including opening spots for The Pnuma Trio, Toubab Krewe, and Eoto at the World Grotto and have recently headlined at Knoxville, TN's famed Blue Cat's.
