Sylvester was born in Athens, Greece on January 30th, 1979. His real name is Tasos (Anastasios) Kalaitzakis. Sylvester developed a passion for music at the young age of six. He studied the piano in a neighborhood faculty, but not happy with his teachers, he withdrew from his piano studies and began studying the synthesizer. At the age of 13 he formally became a student at the well known Philippos Nakas faculty in Greece.
At the age of 18, still not content and not wanting to enter the moulds of classical composers, he once again stopped his formal musical studies and went his own way. (edit)
